Fluffy Japanese Pancakes | Sweet & Savory | – Sugar Baby • Seminole, FL
This is definitely the year for Fluffy Japanese Pancakes because it’s popping up all over by me! They are fluffy soufflé style pancakes that are light, eggy and cloud like. It was only a few months ago that I had my first one ever and it blew up (people were waiting hours to try some in the Tampa Bay Area)!
This time, I was super excited to try this new little café called Sugar Baby in Seminole, FL. The café is open, bright and airy & their food presentation is on point (so pretty)! The owners are a married couple that opened it only a few weeks ago and told me they worked on the fluffy Japanese pancake recipe for a year. They wanted to test it out and start with simple toppings first, but would love to change it up. The really cool thing is that they have a savory one and it was so freakin’ good!
They currently have Berries & Maple Syrup, Matcha Raspberry and Sour (salmon, avocado, poached egg, hollandaise & arugula). I ordered the Matcha Raspberry and Sour and will have to say the Sour – which is savory so I’m not sure why it’s called that, but this one blew it out of the park!
It’s similar to a Eggs Benedict but with fluffy soufflé pancakes! I am a big savory person and thought all the flavors and textures worked really well together.
They also have other breakfast and lunch items available and I have to try the toast next time because those look mighty tasty as well.
Parking can be a little strange since it’s right off a busy road, but the owners told me that there’s also parking in the back too!
